We arrive without a router. ## What a Coulsdon data point covers One faceplate, the cable back to the existing router or cabinet, the test of that link, and a written note of the work are this price. The router itself is not. - Data cabling: from £120 - Extra points are named before more cable is run. - Replacing every network cable in the building, or fitting a fresh rack, is another booking. - Wifi hubs and broadband service are not included. ## Data and network point installation across Coulsdon We serve Coulsdon from our base in Banstead. - Brighton Road - Chipstead Valley Road - Marlpit Lane - Old Coulsdon - Bradmore Green - Coulsdon Woods - Cane Hill Park - Netherne-on-the-Hill ## What happens on the day One data faceplate goes in the room that needs it, with network cable back to the router or cabinet already there, and the wired link is tested once the faceplate is on. The router, the broadband service and the computers that plug in are not ours to provide. A full recable of the building is not this visit. In a house on Chipstead Valley Road the cable ends at the router that house already keeps, not at a cabinet invented for the street. ### Fit the one faceplate named The room on the booking gets one data faceplate. A second point is named in the price before another cable is run. ### End at the router already there The cable runs back to the router or cabinet this home already has. We do not supply a router, a switch or a broadband service, and we do not invent a cabinet for the street. ### Test the link, not the computer The wired link is tested once the faceplate is on. Computers, printers and the leads that plug in stay with the household. A failed laptop is not this visit. ## Questions about data points in Coulsdon ### Is a data point a mains socket? No. It is a network faceplate with a tested cable to the box the home already uses for its internet. It will not run a kettle, and it is not a power outlet. ### Will you bring a new router to a house on Chipstead Valley Road? No. The cable stops at the internet box already sitting in that house on Chipstead Valley Road. The broadband account stays outside this visit. ### Can a second room be added once the first cable is in? It is named in the price before that cable is run. It is not added because there is length left on the drum. ### Do you recable the whole building? No. The priced points are the whole job. Pulling new cable through every room, or standing up a rack, is written as other work. ### What is tested? The wired link from the new faceplate back to the existing router or cabinet. The computers and printers that plug in are not tested or repaired. ## Other services in Coulsdon - [Electrician in Coulsdon](https://www.tmbelectrics.co.uk/electrician-coulsdon): Coulsdon electrician for EV chargers, fault finding and domestic work, with supply, access and cable route checked first. - [Data and network point installation (all areas)](https://www.tmbelectrics.co.uk/services/data-networking-point-installation): Data and network point installation from TMB Electrics starts at £120.
