A new cylinder, plumbing leaks and gas heating are not. - Immersion heater repair: from £80 an hour; from £80 an hour - The tank is drained only when the element or a seal has to come out. - No cylinder means this visit does not go ahead. - We wait until the water heats and the thermostat stops it. ## Immersion heater repair across Coulsdon We serve Coulsdon from our base in Banstead. - Brighton Road - Chipstead Valley Road - Marlpit Lane - Old Coulsdon - Bradmore Green - Coulsdon Woods - Cane Hill Park - Netherne-on-the-Hill ## What happens on the day We test the heater, its thermostat, the switch beside the cylinder and the feed that reaches it. The part that failed is named before a replacement is put in. When the element or a seal has to come out, the cylinder is emptied first. Afterwards we let the water heat and watch the thermostat stop the rise. A replacement tank, a dripping pipe, and any gas boiler stay outside this visit. A newer house at Cane Hill Park with no heater on a cylinder is not booked as this repair. ### Test the heater that is there The check starts at the cylinder already installed. If that home has no immersion, there is nothing on this visit to mend. ### Name the failed part before fitting it A replacement element, thermostat, switch or seal goes in only once that failed part is named. The hours and the parts are written before it goes into the cylinder. ### Leave the tank in place The cylinder stays. A new tank, a plumbing leak, a ballcock or a gas boiler is not taken on because the immersion was open. ## Questions about immersion repair in Coulsdon ### What if the house at Cane Hill Park has no immersion? Then this repair does not apply. We do not fit a story about a heater that is not there, and we do not convert the visit into a boiler job. ### Will you replace the cylinder? No. The cylinder stays. A new tank is a different job. This visit tests and, when needed, replaces the element, thermostat, switch or seal. ### Do you deal with a leaking valve or a combi? No. Dripping pipes, float valves and the cold tank are someone else's work. So is a gas boiler, a combi, or the heating system. ### When is the cylinder drained? When the element or a seal has to come out. If the fault is the thermostat or the isolator and the cylinder can stay full, it stays full. ### How do you know the repair worked? The tank is allowed to warm and the thermostat has to cut out. A part that was fitted without that check is not left as finished. ## Other services in Coulsdon - [Electrician in Coulsdon](https://www.tmbelectrics.co.uk/electrician-coulsdon): Coulsdon electrician for EV chargers, fault finding and domestic work, with supply, access and cable route checked first. - [Immersion heater repair (all areas)](https://www.tmbelectrics.co.uk/services/immersion-heater-hot-water-repair): TMB Electrics immersion heater repair in Banstead from £80 an hour.
