A new circuit at Cane Hill Park needs a different certificate. A minor works certificate in Coulsdon records a small change on a circuit that already exists. A brand new circuit at Cane Hill Park needs the other certificate. ## What a Coulsdon minor works certificate covers The tests on the altered circuit and the completed certificate are this price. Fitting the socket, light or switch is separate labour when it was not already included. - Minor works certificate: from £80 - A condition report on everything in the property is a different visit. - A new circuit needs an installation certificate. - The sheet stays with the property's electrical records. ## Minor works certification across Coulsdon We serve Coulsdon from our base in Banstead. - Brighton Road - Chipstead Valley Road - Marlpit Lane - Old Coulsdon - Bradmore Green - Coulsdon Woods - Cane Hill Park - Netherne-on-the-Hill ## What happens on the day The certificate records the small addition or alteration just made on a circuit that already exists, after that circuit has been isolated and tested. It does not survey every cable in the property, and it is not the document for a new circuit from the board. A newer home at Cane Hill Park that is getting an extra circuit from the board needs an installation certificate instead. Swapping the board in a chalet bungalow is not written up as a minor change. ### Record the change just made The document names the existing circuit that was altered and the test of that alteration. Other rooms and other circuits are outside this sheet. ### Use the other certificate for a new circuit A new circuit from the board, including an extra circuit at a house at Cane Hill Park, is installation work. It is not squeezed onto a minor works certificate. ### Keep a board change off this sheet Replacing the board in a chalet bungalow is not a small alteration of one circuit. That visit has its own record, and this certificate is not used to stand in for it. ## Questions about minor works certificates in Coulsdon ### Is this the same as a full inspection? No. A full inspection looks at the whole installation and produces a report. This certificate only records the small change just made on one existing circuit. ### Does a new socket on an existing circuit need this? Yes. Adding a socket to a circuit that already exists is tested and recorded here. A brand new circuit from the board needs an installation certificate instead. ### What about an extra circuit at a house at Cane Hill Park? That is a new circuit, so it takes an installation certificate. This shorter sheet cannot carry it at all. ### Can a board change be written as minor works? No. Replacing the board, which is common in the chalet bungalows round here, is not a small alteration of one circuit. It is not put on this certificate. ### Does the price include fitting the socket? The certificate price is the tests and the document. Labour to fit the socket, light or switch is included only when that labour was part of the same booking. ## Other services in Coulsdon - [Electrician in Coulsdon](https://www.tmbelectrics.co.uk/electrician-coulsdon): Coulsdon electrician for EV chargers, fault finding and domestic work, with supply, access and cable route checked first. - [Minor works certification (all areas)](https://www.tmbelectrics.co.uk/services/minor-works-certification): Minor works certification from TMB Electrics from £80.
