Smoke alarms go in halls, landings, bedrooms and living rooms. The detectors on the list are fitted, tried, and left with the records for that work. They join an existing circuit when that was how they were priced, and they interlink only when the list says so. In a chalet bungalow the rooms named are the whole job. In a flat near Marlpit Lane we do not fit the whole stair because one flat was booked. ### Put heat where cooking steam is A kitchen or a garage gets a heat alarm. Halls, landings, bedrooms and living rooms get smoke alarms. The two are not swapped because one detector was left over. ### Fit the list, then test it Each detector on the list is fitted and tried. An interlink is included only when it was on that list. A detector in a room that was not named is not added at the end. ### Keep a flat's booking inside the flat A flat near Marlpit Lane gets the alarms named for that flat. The shared stair is not filled with detectors because the flat's door opens onto it. ## Questions about smoke and heat alarms in Coulsdon ### Does the kitchen get a smoke alarm? No. A kitchen or a garage gets a heat alarm, because cooking steam or dust would set a smoke alarm off. Smoke alarms go in halls, landings, bedrooms and living rooms. ### Will you alarm the whole stair for a flat near Marlpit Lane? No. The flat booked gets the detectors named for it. The shared stair is not filled because the front door opens onto that stair. ### Are the alarms linked together? Only when interlink was on the list. A row of separate detectors is not wired together at the end because there is cable left in the van. ### Can old mains alarms be replaced? Yes. The circuit is isolated, the new detectors go up, and each one is tried before power is restored. The number is the number already priced. ### Is this a commercial fire panel? No. A zoned panel, sounders and a zone chart are different work. This visit is the smoke and heat detectors on the list. ## Other services in Coulsdon - [Electrician in Coulsdon](https://www.tmbelectrics.co.uk/electrician-coulsdon): Coulsdon electrician for EV chargers, fault finding and domestic work, with supply, access and cable route checked first. - [Smoke & heat alarm installation (all areas)](https://www.tmbelectrics.co.uk/services/smoke-heat-alarm-installation): TMB Electrics installs smoke and heat alarms for homes and businesses in Banstead and Surrey.
