## What happens on the day

The certificate records one small alteration to a circuit the house is already using. It is not an inspection of every circuit. A circuit still to be created needs an installation certificate, and this paper is the wrong one for that. Swapping the original fuse board behind pebbledash is not minor works. A newer board and the older cable behind it are not rolled into the small alteration. Indoor work is not rewritten because the address sits in a conservation area.

### Write the change that was listed

The certificate names the circuit and records the alteration. A second change nobody listed is not absorbed into it.

### A new circuit uses other paper

An installation certificate is the document for a new circuit. This minor works paper is the wrong document for a circuit still to be created.

### The fuse board is not the paper

Swapping an original fuse board is a later booking. It is not passed off as the small alteration on this visit.

## Questions about minor works in Epsom

### Does the paper cover the whole house?

No. It covers the small alteration on the circuit listed. A look over all the fixed wiring is a different booking.

### Can a new circuit sit on this paper?

No. A brand new circuit needs the installation certificate. This paper cannot carry a circuit still to be created.

### Fuse box or consumer unit?

Both names are used for the box that protects the circuits. Photos or a visit show which is fitted. The paper does not guess which name applies.

### Can minor works swap a pebbledash fuse board?

No. That board, still common in those semis, is a later booking of its own and is not passed off as minor works.

### Does a conservation area change indoor minor works?

Indoor work carries on. The council lists 21 conservation areas, including Woodcote and the former hospital cluster. Gear that would show outside is drawn against the council constraints first.
