# Minor works certification in Horley

> Minor works certificates in Horley describe the one job just finished. A new circuit is written as new, and a single accessory swap stays a swap.

A minor works certificate in Horley describes the one job just finished. A new circuit in an interwar semi is written as new, and a single swap stays a swap.

## What a Horley minor works certificate covers

The certificate for the one circuit added, or the one accessory swapped, is covered here. A second circuit is a second certificate.
- Minor works certificate: from £80
- The sheet matches the job just finished and nothing beyond it.
- The landlord report is not this sheet.
- Changing the board near the station needs another certificate.

## What happens on the day

The certificate matches the one job just finished. A new circuit in an interwar semi along Limes Avenue or the Haroldslea roads is described as new, not as a rewire of that house. Swapping one accessory for another stays that swap. Off Massetts Road the sheet can note that the circuit was added where older wall wiring may sit behind a recent board. The certificate is not the report a privately rented home needs. Changing the board near the station needs its own sheet.

### Describe the job that finished

The form names the circuit added or the accessory swapped. The rest of the house, including an extended station terrace, stays off that sheet.

### Call a new circuit new

Along Limes Avenue a circuit that was added is written as added. It is not described as a rewire of the Haroldslea roads.

### Note the older wiring

Off Massetts Road the sheet can say the circuit was added beside older wall wiring. That note is not a promise to renew the wiring.

## Questions about minor works certificates in Horley

### Does one certificate cover the whole house?

No. It covers the circuit added or the accessory swapped. An extended station terrace is not certified in full by that one sheet.

### How is a new circuit along Limes Avenue described?

As a new circuit. Interwar semis there are not written up as a rewire because one circuit was added.

### What if the work off Massetts Road sits on older wiring?

The sheet can say so. Recording that the wall wiring is older is not the same as renewing it. The wiring stays.

### Is a like for like swap written as a new circuit?

No. One accessory changed for another stays a swap. The form does not pretend we added a circuit. The sheet stays with the swap.

### Can this replace the rental report?

No. Privately rented homes still need their own report on the certificate cycle. One new circuit is not that report.
