# Smoke & heat alarm installation in Horley

> Smoke and heat alarms in Horley are fitted and tested in the one home booked. They do not stand in for the report a rented home still needs.

Smoke and heat alarms in Horley are fitted in the one home that was booked. On a rented house they stay alarms, and the certificate cycle report stays its own paper.

## What Horley alarm fitting covers

You pay for smoke and heat alarms fitted and sounded in the booked home. The kitchen heat alarm is in that price when the kitchen was booked.
- Smoke alarm installation: from £150
- A second home is a second visit.
- The house is not rewired in order to hang alarms.
- Next door's workplace is not on this home's ticket.

## What happens on the day

We fit the alarms in the booked home and sound them from the supply that home uses. A rented house or flat across RH6 may already sit on a certificate cycle, and these alarms do not take the place of the report that cycle still requires. The kitchen gets a heat alarm when that kitchen was part of the booking. In a station terrace the alarms do not renew circuits that have remained through an extension. An interwar semi along Limes Avenue is done as that one house.

### Fit the booked home

Smoke alarms go in the rooms booked for that home. The kitchen gets a heat alarm when the kitchen was part of the same booking.

### Leave the rental report

Alarms in a privately rented home are not the certificate cycle report. That report still has to be done on its own visit.

### Sound them here

The alarms are sounded together in the booked home. Next door is a different ticket unless it was booked as well.

## Questions about smoke alarms in Horley

### Do alarms replace the rental report?

No. A privately rented home across RH6 still needs a valid report on its certificate cycle. Hanging alarms does not produce that report.

### Does the kitchen get a heat alarm?

When that kitchen belongs to the booked home, yes. It is sounded with the other alarms in the same home.

### Will you rewire a station terrace to hang the alarms?

No. Circuits that have remained through an extension stay. If the board cannot feed the alarms, that limit is recorded and left for another booking.

### Can Langshott and Meath Green Lane share one visit?

Only when both homes were booked. Otherwise each home is fitted and sounded on its own visit. They are not combined.

### Is an interwar semi along Limes Avenue done with the neighbour?

No. That semi is fitted on its own. The Haroldslea roads beside it stay off the visit unless they were booked.
