# Emergency call-out & make safe in Reigate

> An emergency visit in Reigate switches off the circuit that is unsafe and brings back only the safe ones. The later repair is named separately.

An emergency visit in Reigate isolates the circuit that is unsafe and brings back only the circuits that are safe. The later repair is named, and the board is not changed on this call.

## What a Reigate emergency visit includes

## What happens on the day

The circuit that is unsafe is isolated, and power is brought back only on the circuits that can be used safely. The repair that should follow is named before the visit ends. This is not that repair, not a board change and not a certificate. If the unsafe part shows on a conservation street, it is described against the council map for that address before anything outside is fixed. Indoor isolation does not wait on that map.

### Isolate what is unsafe

The circuit that cannot be left on is switched off and left off. Other circuits that are safe to use are brought back, and each one is named.

### Name the later repair

Whatever still needs doing is written down before the visit ends. That repair is not started on this call, and it is not left as a vague note.

### Leave the board unchanged

The board is not replaced while an unsafe circuit is isolated. A certificate is not produced from this call either.

## Questions about emergency electrical visits in Reigate

### Will the faulty circuit be repaired on the same call?

No. It is isolated, and the repair is named for a later booking. This call ends once the unsafe circuit is off and the safe ones are back.

### Are the other circuits left off?

Only the ones that are not safe. Circuits that can be used are brought back and named, so the house is not left dark without a reason.

### Does a conservation street delay an indoor fault?

No. Indoor isolation does not wait on the council map. A fault that shows on the outside of a conservation street is described against that map before it is fixed.

### Is a new board fitted if the old one looks tired?

No. A 1930s house on the Reigate Priory estate may well need a new board, and that change is its own booking. This call does not open it.

### Is a certificate included?

No. Making a circuit safe is not an inspection and not a certificate. Either of those is booked on its own once the danger is dealt with.
