What happens on the day
Shelvers Way and Shelvers Hill ceilings, and the loft above them, decide where a hole can go. That lighting circuit is switched off, the LED fittings named beforehand go into a new hole or one that already exists, and each one joins that circuit. Power returns and every lamp is tried. Dust is cleared. A new way from the board, plaster and a loft clear out are not this job.
- Ceilings on Shelvers WayShelvers Way and Shelvers Hill have the lighting circuit switched off before any hole is cut. A Costain ceiling often keeps the opening it already has. A fresh hole is cut only where none serves.
- Only the quoted fittingsThe Avenue and Shelvers Way get only the LED fittings named beforehand. Each one joins the lighting circuit that was switched off.
- Try every lampEvery lamp is tried once power is back, and dust from the holes is cleared. Plaster, paint and a lighting way that starts at the board are not this visit on Shelvers Hill.

Can downlights go into a Shelvers Way ceiling?
Shelvers Hill and The Avenue can take downlights. That lighting circuit is switched off, the fittings named beforehand go into the ceiling, and every lamp is tried before we leave.
Do you empty the loft of a Costain semi?
No. Whatever is stored above a Shelvers Way ceiling stays where it is. If it blocks the work we say so, rather than emptying the loft.
Will a new lighting way be added?
Not on this booking. The fittings join the lighting circuit already in the ceiling. A new way from the board is quoted later, including on Shelvers Hill.
Who makes the ceiling good?
Making good beyond the fitting, including plaster and paint, is outside the price. We clear dust from the holes we cut on Shelvers Hill or Shelvers Way.
Can the old holes be reused?
Yes, where they already suit the fitting. New holes are cut only where the quote says so. The ceiling is looked at before a saw comes out.
