Emergency lighting test & certificate in Kingswood
Emergency lighting in Kingswood is a test of fittings already on the wall. A house is not assumed to have them, and dark lamps are recorded rather than changed.

What the Kingswood emergency light test includes
The figure is the test of fittings already installed, and the list of those that stayed dark. An annexe is included only when it has those fittings. Changing a dark lamp, and any fire panel, sit outside the test.
From £150
Included

- A test of how the fittings behave when mains power is lost
- A written certificate of the test result
- A note of any fittings that fail the test
- A plain explanation of what failed fittings need next
Ways to pay

- Pay by bank
- Bank transfer
- A fitting seen only after we arrive is counted before anyone switches the supply off.
- Changing a dark fitting is booked after the test, not during it.
- The rented wiring inspection is separate paperwork.
Emergency lighting test & certificate across Kingswood
We serve Kingswood from our base in Banstead.
What happens on the day
We drop the supply to the emergency fittings that are already installed and write down which ones fail to light. The lamp is not changed during the test. A large house, or an annexe, is on the list only when those fittings are there. A garage with its own board is not treated as having emergency lights. A house on Woodland Way is not described as a workplace because it wants extra circuits. A fire panel, where the building has one, stays off this record.
- Watch each existing fittingEvery fitting already on the Kingswood list is watched with its supply off. We write whether it lit. A lamp that stays dark is recorded as dark, not adjusted to flatter the result.
- Record the ones that stay darkWe note the dark fitting and the room around it. The lamp is left for later. One dark lamp does not rebuild the other circuits.
- Include only what is fittedAn annexe or outbuilding joins the record only if emergency fittings are there. A Costain house without them is not given a record for fittings it does not have.

What happens to a fitting that stays dark?
The dark fitting and its room go on the sheet. We do not change the lamp while the test is running. A replacement is booked after.
Are garages and annexes included?
Only where emergency fittings are already fitted. A board in the garage does not mean those fittings exist. Ordinary lights stay off the record.
Does a Woodland Way house automatically have these lights?
No. Newer houses that want extra circuits are not treated as workplaces. The test covers only emergency fittings already in that building.
Does the record include a fire panel?
No. The sheet lists fittings that still light after their supply is cut. A fire panel has its own test and is not added here.
Will the test rewire a Costain house?
No. We cut supply to those fittings and put it back. One dark lamp does not become a rewire of original wiring.
