What the Kingswood alarm set includes
We count a smoke head for each bedroom, one for the landing, and a heat head for the kitchen, then the test that they sound together. A lived in annexe adds the rooms it has. A garage does not get a bedroom set. The rented wiring inspection remains its own booking.

Smoke & heat alarm installation across Kingswood
We serve Kingswood from our base in Banstead.
What happens on the day
Smoke heads cover each bedroom and the landing, and the kitchen takes heat because steam would set a smoke head off. We link them and test that link. An annexe joins the list only when people live in it, and its circuit may leave a board out there. Alarms are not a reason to rewire a Costain house. Woodland Way is covered for the rooms it has.
- Match the head to the roomBedrooms and the landing get smoke heads. The kitchen gets a heat head. A room used for cooking is classed by that use, including off Copthill Lane, rather than by the age of the house.
- Add a lived in annexe onlyAn annexe that people live in gets heads for its rooms. A garage or outbuilding that is not lived in does not get a bedroom set. Its board is noted when the circuit starts there.
- Link the heads and test themWe link the set and test that link. On a Costain house the circuit is checked before any base is fixed. Alarms are not how a rewire begins.

Which rooms get a smoke alarm?
Smoke heads go in each bedroom and on the landing. The kitchen takes heat, since steam would set a smoke head off. Room use picks the head, including a Woodland Way kitchen in a later room.
Does an annexe get alarms?
When people live in it as part of the home. A garage or outbuilding that is not lived in does not get a bedroom set. Its board is not a reason to add heads.
Will alarms rewire a Costain house?
No. Heads sit on a circuit able to feed them. Original wiring and later additions stay. Alarms are not the start of a rewire.
Are the alarms linked?
Yes. Every head on the list is linked, rather than one head on its own. Where an annexe is included, its heads are on that list and the link is checked before we leave.
Is this the rented wiring inspection?
No. Letting a house does not turn these heads into the five year wiring inspection. The heads are smoke and heat alarms only.
