EV charger installation in Worcester Park
TMB Electrics, based in Banstead, adds an EV charger in Worcester Park as its own circuit. A modern board at The Hamptons may take it. The original layout on Cheam Common Road often will not.

The figure is the dedicated charger circuit at the Worcester Park property. A modern board at The Hamptons with a spare way is a smaller figure than a Cheam Common Road house whose original layout cannot take the load.

What happens on the day
The charger is a new circuit, sized for that unit. Newer houses at The Hamptons, off Caldbeck Avenue and Longfellow Road, have modern boards and the job is often a small addition if a way is spare. 1930s semis on Cheam Common Road and Green Lane still on the original circuit layout are not assumed to have that way. A flat above the Central Road parade is fed from that flat's board, and only where the building can actually hold a charger.
- Use a spare way if it existsThe Hamptons boards are modern, and a spare way is used when the test shows it. Longfellow Road is the same. A full board is reported before any outside work is marked out.
- Do not borrow the original layoutCheam Common Road and Green Lane semis are still on their original circuits, extended at the back. The charger is not hung on one of those circuits. It gets a circuit of its own, or it waits.
- Stay with the flat's supplyCentral Road flats are planned from the board in that flat. The parade below is a different supply. A charger is only specified where that flat has a real place to put it.

Can the original circuits on Green Lane feed a charger?
No. Those 1930s semis are still on their original layout, and a charger is a circuit of its own. A socket that works in the house does not show room for this load.
Will a modern board at The Hamptons take the charger?
When it has a spare way and the test passes. Homes off Caldbeck Avenue are newer and the addition is often small, but a full board is still reported before the job is booked.
Can a flat above the Central Road parade have a charger?
Only from that flat's own board, and only where the building can hold one. The shop or unit below is not used as the supply, and the neighbours are not disturbed for it.
Is this a rewire of the drive side of the house?
No. It is one new circuit. Near Worcester Park station a rewire and a board change remain separate conversations, and neither is started just because a charger was asked for.
What is photographed for the quote?
The board, the place the charger would sit, and both ends of any cable you hope to reuse. Lindsay Road and Windsor Road houses are quoted from those pictures.
