Sutton light fitting price
A light or dimmer in Sutton is the swap at the existing point. Moving the point in a Sutton Garden Suburb house, where the cable has to go around the building, is quoted separately. A centre semi is not rewired because one lamp failed. A dimmer is included only where the lamp allows it.

What happens on the day
The fitting or the dimmer hangs on the cable that is already there. In a semi near the centre that cable may belong to a later stage of the rewire, and a pendant swap does not replace the other stages. A dimmer is fitted only where the lamp allows. A 1930s house in West Sutton does not get a board change because a light failed. Sutton Garden Suburb fabric is not opened to move a point.
- Use the cable at the pointThe new fitting hangs on the cable already there, including where that cable is a later stage of a centre rewire. Moving the point is described before any cutting.
- Match the dimmer to the lampThe dimmer has to suit the lamps already on that circuit. A lamp that will not dim keeps an ordinary switch. The board is not changed just to make a dimmer fit.
- Leave the bigger jobsA dead light in West Sutton is not the start of the extra sockets that house may also want. A failed lamp in the Garden Suburb is not a reason to open original fabric.

Will a new pendant near the centre replace the other rewire stages?
No. The pendant hangs on the cable that is already there. Other stages of the rewire stay put. Shifting the point is quoted separately.
Can every lamp in West Sutton take a dimmer?
Not always. Whether that lamp can dim is what decides. One that cannot be dimmed keeps a plain switch. The wish for more sockets does not change the lamp.
Will you open Sutton Garden Suburb fabric to move a light?
Not for a swap at the existing point. Moving it means cable planned around the building, described before any cutting. Original fabric is not chased for a shorter drop.
Is a Cheam Road flat light fed from the shop?
No. The fitting is on the flat's circuit. The shop is not opened so a pendant can be swapped, even where the supply is shared.
What if the old cable is too short?
If the cable is short, the extra length is written up before the fitting goes on. A joint buried in the ceiling is not used to hide the shortfall.
