Do you cover all of Sutton?

My Victorian semi has been rewired bit by bit. Does it need doing properly?
Not necessarily. Testing tells us which of those stages was done well and which was not. Plenty of houses near the centre keep two thirds of their existing wiring and only need the oldest circuits replacing, priced as a partial job. Where the earliest cable is rubber or fabric covered, it has reached the end of its life and the whole house is the honest answer.
Can I get more sockets in a 1930s house in West Sutton?
Yes, and it is one of the most common jobs we do out that way. A house built for a wireless and a standard lamp now runs a kitchen full of appliances and two people working from home. Extra sockets can be spurred off an existing circuit where the tests allow it, or given a new circuit of their own where the load justifies it.
My flat is above a shop. Can the wiring still be tested?
It can. Flats over the Cheam Road and High Street parades have supplies that split between the shop and the homes above, and the meters usually live in a cupboard on the stairs. Access to that cupboard is arranged before the visit rather than on the morning, because it is the single thing that turns half a day into a whole one.
