Kitchen electrical refit in Kingswood
A Kingswood kitchen refit starts from the board that already feeds that room. On a Costain house the kitchen may sit in a later addition over the original wiring.

How a Kingswood kitchen is costed
The cost follows the board and circuits that will feed the new kitchen. If original wiring under a Costain addition cannot take the cooker, the circuit is replanned before the old units are removed. Extra circuits in a newer house are listed as those circuits, not absorbed into the kitchen.

What happens on the day
We list the cooker, the hob and the other appliances that will stay, then test the circuit that will feed them before the old units come out. A kitchen at Furze Hill may sit in a later addition on a Costain house, and we do not treat that original wiring as though spare ways are sitting there. A unit in the garage is not treated as spare for the cooker. Houses off Copthill Lane that need extra circuits have those circuits named as circuits.
- Test the circuit the kitchen is onThe cooker, the hob and the smaller appliances are set against the circuit that will feed them. On a Costain addition the original wiring is tested for that load. A kettle that boils is not spare room.
- Do not borrow the garage unitA board in the garage or annexe is not a donor for the kitchen. The kitchen stays on the board that already feeds that room, unless a new circuit is named.
- Name extra circuits as circuitsWoodland Way houses that want extra circuits have those circuits written down. The kitchen list does not become a rewire of a different house.

Can original wiring under an addition take a new cooker?
We check the cooker against the circuit meant to feed it. A later addition is not treated as having enlarged the original wiring.
Will the cooker come off the garage?
No. A board in the garage, annexe or outbuilding is not a spare way for the kitchen. The kitchen stays on the board for that room, or on a new circuit that is named.
Does a Woodland Way kitchen rewire the house?
No. Those newer houses usually need extra circuits, not a rewire. The kitchen circuits are written down. The other rooms are left as they are.
Is a house on The Warren different?
The test is the same. What the board can feed decides the work. The Warren is the place, not a different kitchen circuit.
Is making good included?
No. We stop at the wiring and the accessories chosen for that kitchen. Filling holes and decorating come afterwards, if they are wanted.
