PAT testing across Epsom
We serve Epsom from our base in Banstead.
What happens on the day
Each appliance on the booking is looked at, tested for its class and marked pass or fail, and the register repeats that result. The top of the plug is checked, and so is the flex, and so is the outer shell. Wall wiring is not scored. An original fuse board behind pebbledash toward Stamford Green is not judged while a kettle is marked. Older cable behind a newer board is not given a result here either.
- Appliances on the bookingThe register matches that list. An item spotted later in another room is not marked once testing has started.
- Wall wiring stays off the registerCables in the walls are not scored while a lead is marked. The fuse board is not judged on this visit either.
- Older cable is not a PAT resultCable behind a newer board does not pick up a pass or a fail from a portable test. That look is another booking.

Do you test the fuse board as well?
No. An original fuse board behind pebbledash is not judged during a kettle test. The board is another visit.
What gets looked at?
The top of the plug is checked, and so is the flex, and so is the outer shell. Testing then follows the class marked on the appliance. Pass or fail is written on the item and again on the register.
Will a fail be repaired?
No. It is marked and recorded. Mending it is separate and does not start because testing was booked.
Is older cable behind the board included?
No. That older cable is its own look. A portable test does not score it, and the register stays with the appliances.
Is this the installation inspection?
No. The register covers portable appliances for one premises. Fixed wiring has another document, and this test does not stand in for it.
