Downlight installation in Wallington
Downlights in Wallington are opened only where a room was named beforehand. The extension on a 1930s semi is a different ceiling, and it is opened only when that room was on the list.

How Wallington downlights are counted
Holes and lamps are priced only in rooms named before any cutting. If the extension joins that list later, those extra holes are counted before another ceiling is opened. A consumer unit upgrade is absent from this price.

What happens on the day
Openings are marked in the rooms on the list, the space above is checked, and the lights go on a circuit that can carry them. On a 1930s semi the extension is a different ceiling from the original rooms, and it is opened only when it was named. Villas around Holy Trinity are taken room by room, because the installation has already been lengthened. A flat over a Woodcote Road shop is that flat's ceiling, not the shop.
- Open the named ceiling onlyEvery opening belongs to a room already on the list. An extension joins in only when that ceiling was named before cutting started.
- Leave the shop ceiling shutA flat over a Woodcote Road shop does not have its lights cut through into the shop. The two ceilings stay separate.
- Stop if the circuit is fullIf the circuit cannot take the lights, the openings wait. A new circuit is named rather than hung on a wide road board that has no room.

Is the extension opened as well as the older rooms?
Only when the extension was on the list. On a 1930s semi that ceiling is separate, and an undersized board is not a reason to cut it.
Do villas around Holy Trinity take a full set?
They take the rooms that were named. Those installations are already long. Every ceiling is not opened because the house has been extended.
Is the shop ceiling part of the flat?
No. Flats over the Woodcote Road shops keep the holes in the flat. The shop ceiling stays shut, even though both sit on one incoming supply.
What if the circuit is already full?
The lights wait. A new circuit is described on its own. A board that was never meant for more is not loaded anyway.
Are Roundshaw ceilings treated as a rewire?
No. Houses rebuilt from 1998 are opened only in the rooms named. Wanting another circuit is not this set of holes.
